Stainless steel plate is a comprehensive term encompassing both stainless steel and acid-resistant steel plates. Emerging at the dawn of the 20th century, the evolution of stainless steel plates has been pivotal in shaping modern industry and advancing technological progress. With a myriad of varieties, stainless steel plates have branched into several categories throughout their development. Structurally, they are classified into four main types: austenitic stainless steel plate, martensitic stainless steel plate (including precipitation hardening types), ferritic stainless steel plate, and austenitic-ferritic duplex stainless steel plate. Chemically, they are categorized based on primary chemical compositions or specific elements into chromium stainless steel plate, chromium-nickel stainless steel plate, chromium-nickel-molybdenum stainless steel plate, as well as low carbon, high molybdenum, and high purity stainless steel plates. Functionally, these plates are divided by their performance and applications into acid-resistant, sulfuric acid-resistant, pitting-resistant, stress corrosion-resistant, and high-strength stainless steel plates. Additionally, they are classified based on unique functions into low-temperature, non-magnetic, easy-cutting, and super plastic stainless steel plates. The prevalent classification method integrates structural and chemical composition characteristics, dividing them into martensitic, ferritic, austenitic, duplex, and precipitation hardening categories, or into chromium and nickel stainless steel plates. Common applications include pulp and paper equipment, heat exchangers, mechanical equipment, dyeing machines, film washing apparatus, pipelines, and coastal building materials, among others.
