Stainless steel plate, a term encompassing both stainless steel and acid-resistant steel plates, emerged at the dawn of the 20th century. This innovation has been pivotal in laying the material and technological groundwork for modern industry and scientific advancements. With a myriad of types, stainless steel plates have evolved into several distinct categories. Structurally, they are classified into four main types: austenitic, martensitic (including precipitation hardening), ferritic, and austenitic-ferritic duplex stainless steel plates. Chemically, they are categorized based on primary composition or characteristic elements: chromium, chromium-nickel, chromium-nickel-molybdenum, low carbon, high molybdenum, and high purity stainless steel plates. Performance-wise, they are classified into acid-resistant, sulfuric acid-resistant, pitting-resistant, stress corrosion-resistant, and high-strength stainless steel plates. Functionally, they fall into low temperature, non-magnetic, easy-cutting, and super plastic stainless steel plates. The most common classification method combines structural and chemical composition characteristics, leading to categories like martensitic, ferritic, austenitic, duplex, and precipitation hardening types, or simply chromium and nickel stainless steel plates. Typical applications include pulp and paper equipment, heat exchangers, mechanical equipment, dyeing equipment, film washing equipment, pipelines, and coastal building exteriors.
