Functional characteristics lead to classifications like low temperature stainless steel plate, non-magnetic stainless steel plate, easy-cutting stainless steel plate, and superplastic stainless steel plate. Typically, classification combines structural and chemical composition characteristics, generally dividing into martensitic, ferritic, austenitic, duplex, and precipitation hardening types or into chromium and nickel stainless steel categories.
