Stainless steel plate is a broad term encompassing both stainless and acid-resistant steel plates. Emerging in the early 20th century, stainless steel has been a cornerstone in modern industrial development and scientific progress. With diverse properties, stainless steel plates are categorized based on structure into four types: austenitic, martensitic (including precipitation hardening), ferritic, and austenitic-ferritic duplex. They are further classified by chemical composition into chromium, chromium-nickel, chromium-nickel-molybdenum, low carbon, high molybdenum, and high purity stainless steel plates. Based on performance, they're divided into varieties like corrosion-resistant, sulfuric acid-resistant, pitting resistant, stress corrosion resistant, and high strength. Functional characteristics lead to classifications such as low temperature, non-magnetic, easy cutting, and superplastic stainless steel. Common classification combines structural and chemical traits into martensitic, ferritic, austenitic, duplex, and precipitation hardening types, or into chromium and nickel stainless steel categories. Typical applications include use in pulp and paper equipment, heat exchangers, machinery, dyeing equipment, film processing equipment, pipelines, and coastal building materials.
