Stainless steel plates, encompassing both stainless and acid-resistant varieties, have been instrumental since their inception in the early 20th century. Their evolution has significantly boosted modern industry and scientific progress. Renowned for their versatile properties, stainless steel plates have been categorized into several types over the years. Structurally, they are divided into four primary categories: austenitic, martensitic (including precipitation hardening), ferritic, and duplex (austenitic-ferritic) stainless steel plates. Chemically, they are defined by predominant compositions or key elements like chromium, chromium-nickel, chromium-nickel-molybdenum, low-carbon, high-molybdenum, and high-purity stainless steel. Performance-based classifications include heat-resistant, sulfuric-acid-resistant, pitting-resistant, stress-corrosion-resistant, and high-strength stainless steel plates. Functional distinctions further divide them into low-temperature, non-magnetic, easy-cutting, and super-plastic steel plates. Typically, these classifications merge structural and chemical characteristics, resulting in categories such as martensitic, ferritic, austenitic, duplex, and precipitation-hardening types, or simply chromium and nickel-based plates. Their key applications are vast, covering sectors like pulp and paper equipment, heat exchangers, mechanical and dyeing equipment, film washing setups, pipelines, and coastal construction materials.

Production technology process
Stainless steel pattern plate is divided into two categories:
One is the steel mill in the production of stainless steel through the rolling mill, this kind of product is mainly in the thickness of about 3-6mm, is hot rolling after annealing pickling state, the process is as follows:
Stainless steel billet → rolling black coil in hot tandem mill → hot annealing and pickling line → flattening machine, drawing straightening machine, polishing line → cross cutting line → hot rolled stainless steel pattern plate
One side of this pattern board is flat, and the other side is a pattern. This kind of pattern plate is more commonly used in chemical industry, railway vehicles, platforms and other occasions requiring strength. Such products are mainly imported, generally from Japan and Belgium, and the domestic production of TISCO and Baosteel belongs to this type.
The second type is the processing enterprises on the market, the purchase of hot-rolled or cold-rolled stainless steel plate from steel mills, the pattern plate formed by mechanical stamping, such products are concave and convex, often used in general civil decoration occasions. Such products are cold-rolled more, and most of the 2B/BA cold-rolled stainless steel pattern plates on the market are of this type.
Difference
The difference between stainless steel and patterned steel
First, stainless steel and patterned steel material
Stainless steel is an iron alloy that contains at least 11% chromium. Its main feature is corrosion resistance, not easy to rust. Patterned steel is a steel plate that uses machine embossing to make patterns of various shapes, usually using ordinary carbon steel or alloy steel as raw materials, and the surface has a variety of texture effects after treatment.
Second, the characteristics of stainless steel and patterned steel
1. Stainless Steel
The main characteristics of stainless steel are good corrosion resistance and long service life. At the same time, stainless steel has a certain strength and hardness, high and low temperature resistance, strong tensile resistance. Stainless steel has certain toughness and plasticity, and is easy to process and form. Stainless steel can also improve the surface gloss, so that it has a better appearance.
2. Diamond steel
The characteristic of the patterned steel is that the surface has a very good decorative effect after treatment, and it can be used for the decoration of indoor and external walls, ceilings and some furniture. At the same time, the patterned steel has good corrosion resistance and is not easy to rust. Because the surface of the patterned steel is treated, its hardness is relatively high and it is not easy to be scratched.
