Product Description

Titanium Sheet Ta12-1 Titanium Plate Supplier Titanium Plate Various Sizes Can Be Customized
Titanium alloy is a remarkable combination of titanium and other essential elements, creating an alloy with superior properties. Titanium boasts two forms of homogeneous crystal structures: below 882ºC, it forms a close-packed hexagonal structure known as α titanium, while above 882ºC, it transforms into a body-centered cubic structure called β titanium. Technical Specifications: 1: The chemical composition of titanium and titanium alloy sheets adheres strictly to GB/T 3620.1 standards. Any permissible deviations during reinspection must comply with GB/T 3620.2. 2: Thickness deviations must align with the parameters outlined in Table 1. 3: Width and length deviations should conform to Table 2 specifications. 4: Plate corners must be meticulously cut to right angles, ensuring inclines remain within permissible length and width deviations.

Alloying

Titanium alloy, a sophisticated blend of titanium with other elements, exhibits two crystalline forms: the close-packed hexagonal structure α titanium under 882ºC and the body-centered cubic β titanium above 882ºC.
Alloying elements are categorized into three groups based on their influence on the phase transition temperature:
1. α Stabilizers: Elements like aluminum, carbon, oxygen, and nitrogen which increase the phase transition temperature. Aluminum, the chief alloying element, notably enhances the alloy's strength at both room and elevated temperatures, reduces specific gravity, and boosts elastic modulus.
2. β Stabilizers: Elements that reduce the phase transition temperature. They are further divided into isomorphic (e.g., molybdenum, niobium, vanadium) and eutectoid types (e.g., chromium, manganese, copper, iron, silicon).
The isomorphic types include molybdenum, niobium, and vanadium, while eutectoid types encompass chromium, manganese, copper, iron, and silicon.
3. Neutral Elements: Elements such as zirconium and tin, which have minimal impact on phase transition temperature.
Impurities like oxygen, nitrogen, carbon, and hydrogen significantly affect titanium alloys. High solubility of oxygen and nitrogen in the α phase strengthens the alloy but decreases plasticity, necessitating strict content controls: oxygen (below 0.15-0.2%) and nitrogen (0.04-0.05%). Hydrogen's minimal solubility in the α phase can lead to brittleness if hydrides form, thus its content is managed below 0.015%. Hydrogen can be removed through vacuum annealing due to its reversible dissolution in titanium.

Application

The shipbuilding industry leverages titanium plate's unparalleled corrosion resistance, low density, and non-magnetic properties. Titanium and its alloys are extensively utilized in nuclear submarines, deep-sea submersibles, atomic icebreakers, hydrofoils, hovercrafts, minesweepers, propellers, whip antennas, seawater pipes, condensers, heat exchangers, acoustic devices, and firefighting equipment. Key titanium alloy applications include industrial pure titanium, titanium zirconium alloy, and various titanium alloys.
(1) All titanium ships. F1 has good practical experience in the manufacture of titanium boats. In the 1990s, all-titanium fishing boats or speedboats were manufactured by Toho Titanium Co., LTD., Nikko Industrial Co., LTD., Fuji Shin Shipyard, and Eteng Shipyard. All titanium ship has the advantages of light weight, fast speed, small engine, low fuel cost, less carbon dioxide emissions, no surface coating, easy to clean accessories, etc., the disadvantage is high material cost, difficult processing and manufacturing process, and strict protection requirements. The test results show that the ship has good speed stability, vibration and noise.
(2) Atomic powered ships. In Russia, titanium alloy is used instead of stainless steel in the manufacture of steam engines, heat exchangers and ship coolers, overcoming corrosion damage. Titanium steam engines are widely used in the power plants of Russian atomic icebreakers. The use of titanium alloy can extend the engine life by 10 times.
(3) Propeller. Propeller materials are required to have high strength, good fatigue performance, erosion resistance and cavitation resistance in seawater medium. Titanium alloy can meet the above comprehensive performance requirements. For the first time, the U.S. Navy used a 1,500 mm diameter, four-bladed detachable titanium alloy propeller on a hydrofoil. Hydrofoil speedboat propeller was developed in China in 1972. At present, various specifications of titanium alloy propellers have been produced, with a diameter of 450-1700mm. It can produce titanium alloy fixed propeller with diameter of 1200mm and mass of 130kg. Long-term use shows that the service life of titanium alloy propellers is more than 5 times that of copper alloy propellers.
(4) Marine pumps, valves and pipes. Pumps, valves and pipes made of copper and stainless steel have a service life of only 2-5 years due to very harsh working conditions. The titanium alloy after replacement has good effect and is suitable for large flow mobile seawater pipeline. The Russian ship pipeline life standard stipulates three life requirements, that is, the first docking maintenance period is 8-9 years; The service life is not less than 15 years; The whole life of all types of vessels is required to operate reliably for 25-30 years.
