Stainless steel plates are a versatile and indispensable material in modern industry, encompassing both stainless and acid-resistant variants. Since their inception in the early 20th century, these plates have underpinned industrial advancements and scientific progress. The diversity in stainless steel plates arises from their varying properties, leading to several distinct categories. Structurally, they are classified into four main types: austenitic, martensitic (including precipitation hardening), ferritic, and austenitic-ferritic duplex stainless steel plates. Based on chemical composition or key elements, they are further divided into chromium, chromium-nickel, chromium-nickel-molybdenum, low carbon, high molybdenum, and high purity stainless steel plates. Performance-based classifications include corrosion-resistant, sulfuric acid-resistant, pitting-resistant, stress corrosion-resistant, and high-strength plates. Functional properties lead to categories such as low-temperature, non-magnetic, easy-cutting, and super-plastic stainless steel plates. Common classification combines structural and chemical attributes, grouping them into martensitic, ferritic, austenitic, duplex, and precipitation hardening types, or simply into chromium and nickel stainless steel plates. Typical applications span pulp and paper equipment, heat exchangers, mechanical and dyeing equipment, film washing hardware, pipelines, and coastal building exteriors.
