Alloying
Titanium alloy, a synergy of titanium with other elements, boasts two crystal structures: α titanium (close-packed hexagonal below 882ºC) and β titanium (body-centered cubic above 882ºC).
Alloying elements are categorized based on their impact on the phase transition temperature:
1. α stabilizers increase the phase transition temperature, including aluminum, carbon, oxygen, and nitrogen. Aluminum, a primary alloying element, significantly enhances titanium alloy strength at varying temperatures, reduces specific gravity, and boosts elastic modulus.
2. β stabilizers decrease the phase transition temperature and include isomorphic elements (molybdenum, niobium, vanadium) and eutectoid elements (chromium, manganese, copper, iron, silicon).
The former includes molybdenum, niobium, vanadium; the latter includes chromium, manganese, copper, iron, silicon.
3. Neutral elements, such as zirconium and tin, have minimal impact on phase transition temperature.
Oxygen, nitrogen, carbon, and hydrogen are principal impurities in titanium alloys. Oxygen and nitrogen greatly strengthen the α phase but reduce plasticity. Recommended contents are 0.15~0.2% for oxygen, and 0.04~0.05% for nitrogen. Hydrogen's solubility in the α phase is low; excess hydrogen forms brittle hydrides. Hence, hydrogen content is controlled below 0.015%. Hydrogen's dissolution in titanium is reversible and removable via vacuum annealing.

Applications
Titanium plates are prized in shipbuilding for their outstanding corrosion resistance, low density, memory, and non-magnetic properties. Applications extend to nuclear submarines, deep submersibles, atomic icebreakers, hydrofoils, hovercraft, minesweepers, propellers, whip antennas, seawater pipes, condensers, heat exchangers, acoustic devices, and firefighting equipment. Titanium alloys are used for industrial pure titanium, titanium-zirconium alloys, and other advanced titanium products. Our Advantages
