Titanium Alloy Tube Properties
Titanium Alloy Tube Performance: As a cutting-edge metal, the performance of titanium alloy tubes is influenced by impurity levels, such as carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen, and oxygen. The purest titanium iodide contains impurities below 0.1%, rendering it low in strength but highly ductile. Key properties of 99.5% industrial pure titanium include a density of 4.5g/cm³, a melting point of 1725°C, thermal conductivity of 15.24W/(m.K), tensile strength of 539MPa, 25% elongation, 25% section shrinkage, an elastic modulus of 1.078×10MPa, and a hardness of HB195.
Advantages of Titanium Alloy
When compared to other metal materials, titanium alloys offer the following advantages:
Possessing a superior strength-to-weight ratio, titanium alloys can achieve tensile strengths of 100 to 140kgf/mm² while maintaining just 60% of steel's density.
Exceptional medium-temperature strength, with operational temperatures several hundred degrees higher than aluminum alloys, allowing titanium to maintain required strength up to 450-500°C for prolonged periods.
Remarkable corrosion resistance, with titanium forming an immediate, uniform, and dense oxide film in the atmosphere, defending against various media. Titanium excels in oxidizing and neutral environments, with outstanding resistance in seawater, wet chlorine gas, and chloride solutions, though it performs poorly in reducing media like hydrochloric acid.
Exceptional low-temperature performance, with alloys like TA7 retaining plasticity at temperatures as low as -253°C.
Low elastic modulus, minimal thermal conductivity, and non-ferromagnetic properties.
High hardness.
While titanium alloys exhibit poor stamping properties, they boast excellent thermoplasticity.
The heat treatment process allows for the adjustment of titanium alloys' phase composition and microstructure. Fine equiaxed structures offer superior plasticity, thermal stability, and fatigue strength, while acicular structures provide high-lasting strength, creep strength, and fracture toughness. The combination of equiaxed and acicular structures delivers well-rounded properties.
Common heat treatment methods for titanium alloys include annealing, solution treatment, and aging treatment. Annealing serves to eliminate internal stress, enhance plasticity, and stabilize the structure, thereby optimizing overall properties. For α alloy and (α+β) alloy, annealing temperatures are set 120 ~ 200ºC below the (α+β) -→ β phase transition point. Solution and aging treatment involve rapid cooling from high temperatures to form martensitic α' phase and metastable β phase, followed by thermal preservation in a mid-temperature region to decompose these phases into α phase or compounds and fine, dispersed second-phase particles, ultimately strengthening the alloy. (Alpha+beta) alloy quenching occurs 40 ~ 100ºC below the alpha+beta → beta phase transition point, while metastable beta alloy quenching occurs 40 ~ 80ºC above this transition point. Aging treatment is typically conducted between 450 ~ 550ºC. To meet specific workpiece requirements, the industry also utilizes double annealing, isothermal annealing, β heat treatment, deformation heat treatment, and other specialized metal heat treatment processes.

Titanium alloy is primarily employed in manufacturing aircraft engine compressor components, and is also critical for rockets, missiles, and structural parts of high-speed aircraft. Since the mid-1960s, titanium and its alloys have been extensively used in general industry, including the production of electrolytic industry electrodes, power station condensers, oil refining and seawater desalination heaters, and environmental pollution control devices. Recognized for their corrosion resistance, titanium alloys are key materials in various industries. Additionally, they are utilized in creating hydrogen storage materials and shape memory alloys.
China embarked on titanium and titanium alloy research in 1956, leading to the initiation of industrial production in the mid-1960s and the development of the TB2 alloy. Our Advantages
