Product Description

It is primarily categorized into two types: brass rod (a cost-effective copper-zinc alloy) and purple copper rod (with a higher copper content). The brass rod, an alloy of copper and zinc, derives its name from its distinctive yellow hue. With a copper concentration ranging between 56% to 68%, brass boasts a melting point of 934 to 967 degrees Celsius. Its outstanding mechanical properties and durability make it ideal for crafting precision instruments, maritime components, ammunition, and more. The zinc content variation influences its color: an 18%-20% zinc mix results in reddish-yellow, while a 20%-30% mix gives a brownish-yellow shade. Brass's unique acoustics make it the preferred material for Eastern gongs, cymbals, bells, horns, and an array of Western brass instruments.
