Product Description

Titanium Plate Ta7 Hot Rolling 0.5mm-150mm Ti6al4V Titanium Alloy Sheet Platinum Coated Titanium Plates Various Sizes Can Be Customized
Titanium alloy, a versatile material, is crafted by adding various elements to titanium. This metal showcases two forms of homogeneous crystals: the α phase (close-packed hexagonal structure) below 882ºC and the β phase (body-centered cubic structure) above 882ºC. Technical requirements: 1: The chemical composition of titanium and its alloys must meet the GB/T 3620.1 standards, with permissible deviations for reinspection in accordance with GB/T 3620.2. 2: Thickness deviations must align with Table 1 specifications. 3: Width and length deviations should comply with Table 2. 4: Corners should ideally be right angles, with inclination within allowable length and width deviations.

Alloying

Titanium alloy, characterized by the addition of various elements to titanium, exists in two crystalline forms: the α phase (hexagonal structure) below 882ºC, and the β phase (cubic structure) above 882ºC.
Alloying elements, based on their impact on phase transition temperature, fall into three categories:
1. α Phase Stabilizers: Elements like aluminum, carbon, oxygen, and nitrogen, which raise the phase transition temperature. Aluminum, the primary alloying component, significantly enhances the alloy's strength at both room and high temperatures, reduces specific gravity, and increases the elastic modulus.
2. β Phase Stabilizers: These elements lower the phase transition temperature and are further classified into isomorphic and eutectoid types.
The isomorphic type includes molybdenum, niobium, and vanadium; the eutectoid type encompasses chromium, manganese, copper, iron, and silicon.
3. Neutral Elements: Zirconium and tin, which minimally affect the phase transition temperature.
Oxygen, nitrogen, carbon, and hydrogen are primary impurities in titanium alloys. Oxygen and nitrogen, which greatly solubilize in the α phase, strengthen the alloy but reduce its plasticity. Typically, oxygen and nitrogen concentrations in titanium are kept below 0.15-0.2% and 0.04-0.05%, respectively. Hydrogen's solubility in the α phase is minimal, and excess hydrogen forms hydrides that make the alloy brittle. Thus, hydrogen levels are controlled below 0.015%. Notably, hydrogen can be removed through vacuum annealing.

Application

Titanium plates are prized in the shipbuilding industry for their exceptional corrosion resistance, low density, memory shape, and non-magnetic properties. These qualities make titanium and its alloys ideal for use in nuclear submarines, deep-sea submersibles, atomic icebreakers, hydrofoils, hovercraft, minesweepers, propellers, whip antennas, seawater pipes, condensers, heat exchangers, acoustic devices, and fire-fighting equipment. Key titanium alloys include industrial pure titanium, titanium zirconium alloy, and titanium alloy.
(1) All titanium ships. F1 has garnered extensive experience in crafting titanium boats. In the 1990s, leading companies like Toho Titanium Co., LTD., Nikko Industrial Co., LTD., Fuji Shin Shipyard, and Eteng Shipyard pioneered the manufacture of all-titanium fishing boats and speedboats. These vessels offer remarkable benefits such as lightweight construction, enhanced speed, smaller engine requirements, reduced fuel consumption, minimal carbon dioxide emissions, and the absence of surface coatings, which make for easier maintenance. However, they come with challenges like high material costs, complex manufacturing processes, and stringent protection needs. Test results highlight impressive speed stability, reduced vibration, and lower noise levels.
(2) Atomic powered ships. In Russia, titanium alloys have revolutionized the construction of steam engines, heat exchangers, and ship coolers by replacing stainless steel, thereby overcoming corrosion issues. These titanium steam engines are fundamental to the power systems of Russian atomic icebreakers, enhancing the engines' lifespan by an extraordinary tenfold.
(3) Propeller. Propeller materials must exhibit high strength, excellent fatigue performance, and resistance to erosion and cavitation in seawater. Titanium alloys meet all these stringent requirements. The U.S. Navy first introduced a 1,500 mm diameter, four-bladed detachable titanium alloy propeller on a hydrofoil. China developed its hydrofoil speedboat propeller in 1972. Today, various titanium alloy propellers ranging from 450mm to 1700mm in diameter are produced. Notably, the production includes a fixed titanium alloy propeller with a 1200mm diameter and 130kg mass, offering a service life more than five times that of copper alloy propellers.
(4) Marine pumps, valves and pipes. Copper and stainless steel pumps, valves, and pipes often have a limited service life of just 2-5 years under harsh conditions. Switching to titanium alloy significantly enhances performance, making it ideal for large flow mobile seawater pipelines. Russian standards for ship pipelines demand three lifespan requirements: an initial docking maintenance period of 8-9 years, a service life of at least 15 years, and reliable operation for 25-30 years over the vessel's entire life.
