Product Description

ASTM Titanium Sheet 1mm Titanium Tc15 Tc16 Titanium Alloy Plate Per Kg
Titanium alloy, a sophisticated combination of titanium and other elements, showcases two distinct homogeneous crystals: below 882ºC, it forms a close-packed hexagonal structure known as α titanium, and above 882ºC, it transitions to a body-centered cubic structure, β titanium. Technical Requirements: 1: The chemical composition of the titanium and titanium alloy sheets must adhere to the GB/T 3620.1 standards, with permissible chemical composition deviations complying with GB/T 3620.2 specifications during buyer reinspection. 2: Thickness deviations must conform to Table 1. 3: Width and length deviations should align with Table 2. 4: Plate corners should be precisely cut into right angles, ensuring inclines don't exceed allowable length and width deviations.

Alloying

Titanium alloy is a high-performance material formed by adding various elements to titanium. It boasts two types of homogeneous crystals: α titanium with a close-packed hexagonal structure below 882ºC, and β titanium with a body-centered cubic structure above 882ºC.
Alloying elements are categorized based on their impact on the phase transition temperature:
1. α Stabilizing Elements: These elements increase the phase transition temperature and stabilize the α phase, including aluminum, carbon, oxygen, and nitrogen. Aluminum is the key alloying element, significantly enhancing strength at both room and high temperatures, reducing specific gravity, and raising the elastic modulus.
2. β Stabilizing Elements: These reduce the phase transition temperature and stabilize the β phase, further divided into isomorphic and eutectoid types.
Isomorphic stabilizers include molybdenum, niobium, and vanadium, while eutectoid stabilizers encompass chromium, manganese, copper, iron, and silicon.
3. Neutral Elements: Elements like zirconium and tin have minimal effect on the phase transition temperature.
Impurities in Titanium Alloys: Oxygen, nitrogen, carbon, and hydrogen are crucial impurities. Oxygen and nitrogen significantly strengthen the alloy but reduce plasticity, with recommended contents below 0.15~0.2% for oxygen and 0.04~0.05% for nitrogen. Hydrogen, though sparingly soluble in the alpha phase, can form brittle hydrides if excessive. Hydrogen content is typically controlled below 0.015%, and its dissolution is reversible through vacuum annealing.

Application

Titanium plate's premier use in the shipbuilding industry capitalizes on its exceptional corrosion resistance, low density, memory, and non-magnetic properties. It is indispensable in nuclear submarines, deep-sea submersibles, atomic icebreakers, hydrofoils, hovercraft, minesweepers, propellers, whip antennas, seawater pipes, condensers, heat exchangers, acoustic devices, and firefighting equipment. Typical applications of titanium alloys include industrial pure titanium, titanium zirconium alloy, and other specialized titanium alloys.
(1) **All Titanium Ships:** Drawing from F1's extensive hands-on experience, we've seen remarkable advancements in titanium boat construction since the 1990s. Esteemed manufacturers such as Toho Titanium Co., LTD., Nikko Industrial Co., LTD., Fuji Shin Shipyard, and Eteng Shipyard have set a benchmark in producing all-titanium fishing boats and speedboats. These vessels boast unparalleled benefits: lightweight, rapid speeds, smaller engines, reduced fuel consumption, lower carbon emissions, no need for surface coatings, and effortless maintenance. Despite the high material costs and complex manufacturing processes, the results are worth it-offering perfect speed stability, minimal vibration, and reduced noise.
(2) **Atomic Powered Ships:** Russia has revolutionized maritime engineering by replacing stainless steel with titanium alloys in steam engines, heat exchangers, and ship coolers, significantly mitigating corrosion issues. Titanium steam engines are now pivotal in Russian atomic icebreakers, extending engine life by an astonishing 10 times.
(3) **Propellers:** Propeller materials demand exceptional strength, fatigue resistance, erosion resistance, and cavitation resilience in seawater. Titanium alloys effortlessly meet these stringent requirements. The U.S. Navy pioneered the use of a 1,500 mm diameter, four-bladed detachable titanium alloy propeller on a hydrofoil. In China, hydrofoil speedboat propellers have been in development since 1972, resulting in a wide range of titanium alloy propellers (450-1700mm in diameter). Notably, a titanium fixed propeller with a 1200mm diameter and a mass of 130kg showcases durability, offering more than five times the service life of copper alloy propellers.
(4) **Marine Pumps, Valves, and Pipes:** Traditional materials like copper and stainless steel often succumb to harsh marine conditions within 2-5 years. In contrast, titanium alloy replacements exhibit outstanding durability, making them ideal for high-flow mobile seawater pipelines. Russian standards demand a maintenance-free period of 8-9 years, a service life of no less than 15 years, and reliable operation spanning 25-30 years for all vessel types.
