Alloying
Titanium alloy is a blend of titanium with additional elements, presenting two homogeneous crystal forms: α titanium (close-packed hexagonal) below 882ºC and β titanium (body-centered cubic) above 882ºC.
Alloying elements are categorized into three groups based on their effect on phase transition temperature:
1. Elements that stabilize the α phase and increase phase transition temperature are α stable elements, including aluminum, carbon, oxygen, and nitrogen. Aluminum, in particular, enhances alloy strength at both room and high temperatures, reduces specific gravity, and increases elastic modulus.
2. Elements that stabilize the β phase and reduce phase transition temperature are β stable elements, classified into isomorphic and eutectoid types. The application of titanium alloy products:
Isomorphic elements include molybdenum, niobium, and vanadium; Eutectoid elements include chromium, manganese, copper, iron, and silicon.
3. Elements with negligible effect on phase transition temperature are neutral elements, such as zirconium and tin.
The primary impurities in titanium alloys are oxygen, nitrogen, carbon, and hydrogen. Oxygen and nitrogen have high solubility in the α phase, strengthening the alloy but reducing plasticity. Thus, oxygen and nitrogen content in titanium is typically kept below 0.15~0.2% and 0.04~0.05%, respectively. Hydrogen solubility in the α phase is minimal, and excess hydrogen creates hydrides, causing brittleness. Therefore, hydrogen content is generally controlled below 0.015%. Hydrogen dissolution in titanium is reversible and can be expelled through vacuum annealing.

Applications
Titanium plates are extensively utilized in the shipbuilding industry due to their remarkable corrosion resistance, low density, memory, and non-magnetic properties. Their applications span nuclear submarines, deep submersibles, atomic icebreakers, hydrofoils, hovercraft, minesweepers, propellers, whip antennas, seawater pipes, condensers, heat exchangers, acoustic devices, and firefighting equipment. The main types of titanium alloys used are industrial pure titanium, titanium zirconium alloy, and titanium alloy. Our Advantages
