Product Description

Titanium Sheet Ta16 Ta17 Ta18 Titanium Plate Supplier Titanium Plate Various Sizes Can Be Customized
Titanium alloy is a composite material primarily based on titanium, enhanced by the addition of various elements. It exhibits two homogeneous crystal structures: α titanium with a close-packed hexagonal structure below 882ºC, and β titanium with a body-centered cubic structure above 882ºC. Technical Requirements: 1. The chemical composition must comply with GB/T 3620.1, and any deviations during reinspection must adhere to GB/T 3620.2. 2. Thickness deviations should meet Table 1 specifications. 3. Width and length deviations must conform to Table 2. 4. Plate corners should be as right-angled as possible, with inclines not exceeding specified deviations.

Alloying

Titanium alloy is a composite material primarily based on titanium, enhanced by the addition of various elements. It exhibits two homogeneous crystal structures: α titanium with a close-packed hexagonal structure below 882ºC, and β titanium with a body-centered cubic structure above 882ºC.
Alloying elements are categorized based on their impact on phase transition temperatures:
1. Elements that stabilize the α phase and increase transition temperatures are α stable elements, including aluminum, carbon, oxygen, and nitrogen. Aluminum is the principal alloying element, significantly enhancing the alloy's strength at room and high temperatures, reducing specific gravity, and increasing elastic modulus.
2. Elements that stabilize the β phase and reduce transition temperatures are β stable elements, divided into isomorphic and eutectoid types.
Isomorphic types include molybdenum, niobium, and vanadium; eutectoid types include chromium, manganese, copper, iron, and silicon.
3. Neutral elements, which have minimal impact on phase transition temperatures, include zirconium and tin.
Oxygen, nitrogen, carbon, and hydrogen are the main impurities in titanium alloys. High solubility of oxygen and nitrogen in the α phase significantly strengthens the alloy but reduces plasticity, typically limiting oxygen and nitrogen content to 0.15-0.2% and 0.04-0.05%, respectively. Hydrogen solubility in the α phase is minimal; excess hydrogen forms brittle hydrides. Hydrogen content is generally controlled below 0.015% and can be removed by vacuum annealing.

Application

Titanium plates are extensively used in the shipbuilding industry due to their exceptional corrosion resistance, low density, memory, and non-magnetic properties. Applications include nuclear submarines, deep submersibles, atomic icebreakers, hydrofoils, hovercraft, minesweepers, propellers, whip antennas, seawater pipes, condensers, heat exchangers, acoustic devices, and fire fighting equipment. The primary types of titanium alloys used are industrial pure titanium, titanium zirconium alloys, and titanium alloys.
(1) All Titanium Ships. F1 boasts extensive experience in crafting titanium boats. Since the 1990s, Toho Titanium Co., LTD., Nikko Industrial Co., LTD., Fuji Shin Shipyard, and Eteng Shipyard have been pioneers in producing all-titanium fishing boats and speedboats. The advantages of all-titanium ships include light weight, swift speeds, smaller engines, reduced fuel costs, minimal carbon dioxide emissions, no need for surface coatings, and easy-to-clean accessories. However, high material costs and complex manufacturing processes present challenges. Test results affirm the ship's superior speed stability, reduced vibration, and lower noise levels.
(2) Atomic Powered Ships. In Russia, titanium alloy has replaced stainless steel in fabricating steam engines, heat exchangers, and ship coolers, effectively mitigating corrosion damage. Titanium steam engines are now a staple in Russian atomic icebreakers' power plants, notably extending engine life by an impressive tenfold.
(3) Propeller. Propeller materials demand high strength, superior fatigue performance, and resistance to erosion and cavitation in seawater. Titanium alloy fulfills these stringent requirements. The U.S. Navy pioneered the use of a 1,500 mm diameter, four-bladed detachable titanium alloy propeller for hydrofoils. China followed suit in 1972 with its own hydrofoil speedboat propeller. Today, titanium alloy propellers ranging from 450-1700mm in diameter are available. We manufacture fixed propellers with up to 1200mm diameter and 130kg mass, offering a service life over five times that of copper alloy counterparts.
(4) Marine Pumps, Valves, and Pipes. Traditional pumps, valves, and pipes made from copper and stainless steel have a limited service life of only 2-5 years under harsh conditions. Titanium alloys, however, excel in large-flow mobile seawater pipelines. Russian standards stipulate a first docking maintenance period of 8-9 years, a service life of at least 15 years, and a total operational lifespan of 25-30 years for all vessel types.
