Mold material refers to the steel used for manufacturing molds, including cold punching dies and hot forging dies. This material forms the backbone of the mold manufacturing industry, affecting its performance directly. The material's type, specifications, and quality significantly impact the mold's overall performance. Recently, the medieval mold industry has evolved rapidly, thanks to advancements in production technology, process equipment, quality, and variety. The national support for high-quality producers like Fushun Special Steel, Great Wall Special Steel, Xingcheng Special Steel, and Hangzhou Steel has fostered this growth. As a result, industrial products have advanced, become more individualized, and moved towards higher added value. Molds serve diverse applications, and various materials are employed in their manufacture, with mold steel being the most prevalent.

Performance Requirements
1. Annealing Processability
The material should possess a broad spheroidizing annealing temperature range, low and consistent annealing hardness, and a high spheroidization rate.
2. Forgeability
It should feature low resistance to hot forging deformation, excellent plasticity, an extensive forging temperature range, minimal forging crack tendencies, and low incidences of cold cracks and network carbide precipitation.
3. Oxidation and Decarburization Sensitivity
The material should exhibit good oxidation resistance at high temperatures, a slow decarburization rate, minimal sensitivity to heating mediums, and low pitting tendencies.
4. Cutting Processability
It should allow for large cutting amounts, low tool wear, and produce low surface roughness in machining processes.
5. Hardenability
The material should be capable of achieving a deep hardened layer after quenching and can be hardened with a mild quenching medium.
6. Grindability
It should have minimal grinding wheel loss, allow for a large limit grinding amount without burning, and show insensitivity to the quality of the grinding wheel and cooling conditions. Abrasion and grinding cracks should be minimal.
7. Hardenability
After quenching, the material should maintain a uniform and high surface hardness.
8. Quenching Deformation and Cracking Tendency
Conventional quenching should result in minimal volume changes, slight shape warping, and distortion with low abnormal deformation tendencies. Additionally, it should show low cracking sensitivity and insensitivity to quenching temperature and workpiece shape.

Application
Mold steel plates find extensive applications across various fields, including automobile manufacturing, electronic product manufacturing, home appliance manufacturing, plastic product manufacturing, and medical device manufacturing. These sectors demand molds with high strength, hardness, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance.
1. In automobile manufacturing, mold steel plates are used for producing stamping molds, injection molds, die-casting molds, among others, meeting the industry's stringent mold requirements.
