Chemically, they break down into chromium stainless steel, chromium-nickel stainless steel, chromium-nickel-molybdenum stainless steel, low carbon stainless steel, high molybdenum stainless steel, and high purity stainless steel. Functionally, they include varieties like acid-resistant, sulfuric acid resistant, pitting resistant, stress corrosion-resistant, and high-strength stainless steel plates. Additionally, specialized functional categories exist, such as low temperature, non-magnetic, easy cutting, and super plastic stainless steel plates. Common classification methods merge structural and chemical composition characteristics, further dividing them into martensitic, ferritic, austenitic, duplex, and precipitation hardening types, or simply into chromium and nickel stainless steel categories.
