The manufacturing process of high-temperature alloy pipes typically avoids or minimizes the inclusion of aluminum and titanium, often utilizing electric arc furnaces or non-vacuum induction furnaces for smelting. For superalloys containing aluminum and titanium, vacuum smelting is essential to control element loss and minimize gas and inclusions. A dual process combining initial smelting and secondary remelting, using vacuum consumable furnaces and electroslag furnaces, further refines the alloy by reducing inclusions and optimizing the ingot's crystal structure.
Solid solution strengthened alloys and those with low aluminum and titanium content (less than 4.5%) can be forged. Alloys with higher aluminum and titanium content are typically extruded or rolled, followed by hot rolling, with some products undergoing additional cold rolling or drawing. Large diameter alloy ingots require forging by hydraulic or fast forging hydraulic presses to meet required specifications and performance standards.
Highly alloyed, difficult-to-deform alloys are predominantly shaped using precision casting. Advanced directional crystallization processes have been developed to form parallel columnar crystals, significantly reducing grain boundaries perpendicular to the stress axis and eliminating porosity. This innovation is critical in manufacturing casting turbine blades and guide blades. Additionally, single crystal blade production techniques have been researched to eliminate all grain boundaries, enhancing the performance of these critical components.
