Stainless steel plate is a broad term encompassing both stainless steel and acid-resistant steel plates. Originating in the early 20th century, the development of stainless steel plates has been pivotal to the advancement of modern industry and technology. These plates come in a variety of types with distinct properties and have evolved into multiple categories over time. Structurally, they are classified into four main types: austenitic, martensitic (including precipitation hardening), ferritic, and austenitic-ferritic duplex stainless steel plates. Chemically, they are categorized based on the primary composition or specific elements they contain, such as chromium stainless steel, chromium-nickel stainless steel, chromium-nickel-molybdenum stainless steel, low carbon stainless steel, high molybdenum stainless steel, and high purity stainless steel. Performance-wise, they can be divided into heat-resistant, sulfuric acid-resistant, pitting-resistant, stress corrosion-resistant, and high-strength stainless steel plates. Functional characteristics offer another classification: low temperature, non-magnetic, easy-cutting, and super plastic stainless steel plates. Common classification methods often combine structural and chemical characteristics, generally resulting in categories like martensitic, ferritic, austenitic, duplex, and precipitation hardening stainless steel plates. Alternatively, they can be broadly classified into chromium and nickel stainless steel plates. Typical applications include pulp and paper equipment, heat exchangers, mechanical equipment, dyeing machinery, film processing equipment, pipelines, and coastal construction materials.

Production Technology Process

Stainless Steel Pattern Plate is categorized into two distinct types:

The first type involves stainless steel produced in steel mills through a rolling process. This variant typically features a thickness of about 3-6mm and undergoes hot rolling followed by annealing and pickling. The detailed process is as follows:

Stainless steel billet → rolled into black coil via hot tandem mill → hot annealing and pickling line → flattening machine, straightening machine, polishing line → cross-cutting line → hot-rolled stainless steel pattern plate

One side of this high-strength pattern plate is flat, while the other showcases a unique pattern. It is predominantly utilized in chemical industries, railway vehicles, platforms, and other high-strength required environments. These products are often imported, primarily from Japan and Belgium, though domestic producers like TISCO and Baosteel also manufacture similar items.

The second type involves market processing enterprises, which purchase hot-rolled or cold-rolled stainless steel plates from steel mills. Through mechanical stamping, these plates are transformed into patterned plates with a delightful concave and convex design, widely used in general civil decoration. Most products of this type are cold-rolled, prominently 2B/BA cold-rolled stainless steel pattern plates available in the market.

Differences

The Distinction Between Stainless Steel and Patterned Steel

Firstly, the Material Composition

Stainless steel is an iron alloy containing at least 11% chromium, renowned for its exceptional corrosion resistance and resilience to rust. Patterned steel, on the other hand, involves machine embossing ordinary carbon steel or alloy steel to create various textured patterns, resulting in a visually appealing surface.

Secondly, the Characteristics

1. Stainless Steel

Stainless steel is characterized by its superior corrosion resistance, extended lifespan, and robust strength and hardness. It boasts high and low temperature resistance, strong tensile strength, and possesses a degree of toughness and plasticity, making it easy to process and form. Additionally, stainless steel enhances surface gloss for an improved aesthetic.

2. Patterned Steel

Patterned steel is distinguished by its excellent decorative effect, suitable for interior and exterior walls, ceilings, and select furniture. It also offers good corrosion resistance and is less prone to rust. The treated surface increases its hardness, making it resistant to scratches.
