Stainless steel plate is a general term encompassing both stainless steel plate and acid-resistant steel plate. Emerging at the dawn of the 20th century, stainless steel plate development has provided a crucial material and technological foundation for modern industry and scientific advancements. With numerous variations and properties, stainless steel plates have evolved into several distinct categories. Structurally, they are classified into four types: austenitic stainless steel plate, martensitic stainless steel plate (including precipitation hardening), ferritic stainless steel plate, and austenitic-ferritic duplex stainless steel plate. Based on chemical composition or distinctive elements, they are divided into chromium stainless steel plate, chromium-nickel stainless steel plate, chromium-nickel-molybdenum stainless steel plate, low carbon stainless steel plate, high molybdenum stainless steel plate, and high purity stainless steel plate, among others. Performance and application lead to classifications such as acid-resistant stainless steel plate, sulfuric acid-resistant stainless steel plate, pitting-resistant stainless steel plate, stress corrosion-resistant stainless steel plate, and high-strength stainless steel plate. Functional classifications include low temperature stainless steel plate, non-magnetic stainless steel plate, easy-cutting stainless steel plate, and super plastic stainless steel plate. Typically, classifications merge structural and compositional characteristics, resulting in common groups like martensitic, ferritic, austenitic, duplex, and precipitation hardening stainless steel plates, or broadly, chromium and nickel stainless steel plates. Typical applications include pulp and paper equipment, heat exchangers, mechanical equipment, dyeing equipment, film washing equipment, pipelines, and coastal building exteriors.
