Available in two main forms: brass rod (a cost-effective copper-zinc alloy) and purple copper rod (noted for high copper content), it caters to a range of industrial needs. Brass rods, characterized by their vibrant yellow hue, are composed of a copper-zinc alloy with melting points between 934 and 967 degrees for brass with 56% to 68% copper content. Renowned for exceptional mechanical strength and wear resistance, brass finds its use in precision instruments, marine components, ammunition, and much more. Zinc content variations yield different shades, such as red-yellow for 18%-20% zinc and brownish-yellow for 20%-30% zinc. Additionally, brass's distinctive acoustic properties make it the preferred material for both Eastern and Western musical instruments including gongs, cymbals, bells, horns, and brass instruments.
