Our stainless steel pipe, a versatile hollow cylindrical steel, finds extensive applications across multiple industries including petroleum, chemical, medical, food, light industry, and mechanical instrumentation. Renowned for its strength in both bending and torsion yet lightweight, it is ideally suited for crafting mechanical parts, engineering structures, and even furniture kitchenware.
According to the composition, it can be divided into Cr series (400 series), Cr-Ni series (300 series), Cr-Mn-Ni (200 series), heat-resistant chromium alloy steel (500 series) and precipitation hardening series (600 series).
200 series: chromium-manganese-nickel
201,202, etc.: manganese replaces nickel, corrosion resistance is relatively poor, widely used as a cheap substitute for 300 series in China
300 series: chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel
304: general model; that is, 18/8 stainless steel. Products such as: corrosion-resistant containers, tableware, furniture, railings, medical equipment. The standard composition is 18% chromium plus 8% nickel. It is a non-magnetic stainless steel whose metallographic structure cannot be changed by heat treatment. The GB grade is 06Cr19Ni10.
304 L: Same characteristics as 304, but low carbon makes it more corrosion-resistant and easy to heat treat, but the mechanical properties are poor. It is suitable for welding and products that are not easy to heat treat.
304 N: Same characteristics as 304, a nitrogen-containing stainless steel, nitrogen is added to increase the strength of the steel.
309: Better temperature resistance than 304, up to 980°C.
309 S: Contains a lot of chromium and nickel, so it has good heat resistance and oxidation resistance. Products such as heat exchangers, boiler components, and jet engines.
310: Excellent high-temperature oxidation resistance, with a maximum operating temperature of 1200°C.
316: After 304, the second most widely used steel grade, mainly used in the food industry, watch accessories, pharmaceutical industry, and surgical equipment. Molybdenum is added to give it a special corrosion-resistant structure. Because it has better chloride corrosion resistance than 304, it is also used as "marine steel". SS316 is usually used in nuclear fuel recovery devices. 18/10 grade stainless steel usually meets this application level.
316 L: Low carbon, so more corrosion resistant and easy to heat treat, products such as: chemical processing equipment, nuclear power generators, refrigerant storage tanks.
410: Martensitic (high-strength chromium steel), good wear resistance, poor corrosion resistance.
420: "Tool-grade" martensitic steel, similar to Brinell high-chromium steel, the earliest stainless steel. Also used for surgical knives, can be made very bright.

Application Requirements
Automobile Industry
In the automotive sector, stainless steel is predominantly utilized in exhaust systems, composing over half of the stainless steel used in vehicles, with ferritic stainless steel being the principal type. The exhaust system, including components like the muffler and converter, predominantly uses types 409L and 436L stainless steel welded pipes. Roughly 1.5% of the total stainless steel pipe consumption is attributed to the automotive industry, with a usage ratio of seamless to welded pipes at approximately 2:1.
Petrochemical and Fertilizer Industry
The petrochemical industry has a significant demand for stainless steel pipes, primarily seamless varieties. Common specifications include 304, 321, 316, 316L, 347, and 317L, with outer diameters ranging from 18mm to 610mm and wall thicknesses from 6mm to 50mm. These pipes are extensively used in applications like furnace tubes, material conveying tubes, and heat exchanger tubes, especially for medium and low-pressure pipelines.
Water and Gas Fluid Transport
Stainless steel pipes excel in fluid transport systems, offering superior corrosion resistance compared to cast iron, carbon steel, and plastic pipes. These pipes and their associated equipment are among the most advanced water purification materials globally.
Ideal materials for the water industry, stainless steel pipes are used in water preparation, storage, transportation, purification, regeneration, and desalination. The annual demand for these pipes is approximately 25,000 tons.
Equipment Manufacturing and Maintenance
In the equipment manufacturing sector, over 20,000 tons of stainless steel pipes are used annually, particularly in sanitary or antibacterial grades. These pipes, frequently made from SUS304 and 316L, meet the stringent requirements of various media in the food and biopharmaceutical industries. Antibacterial stainless steel is prized for its combination of durability and antimicrobial properties, seeing rising demand in kitchen equipment, food industry worktables, medical instruments, and household items like towel brackets and refrigerators.
