The copper bar family primarily consists of two types: the brass rod, an economical copper-zinc alloy, and the purple copper rod, renowned for its higher copper content. The brass rod, created from a mix of copper and zinc, takes its name from its distinct yellow color, containing 56% to 68% copper. Brass boasts a melting point of 934 to 967 degrees, exceptional mechanical properties, and remarkable wear resistance, making it perfect for crafting precision instruments, naval components, gun shells, and more. Zinc content variations in brass rods produce different hues, with 18%-20% zinc offering a red-yellow tone, and 20%-30% zinc yielding a brownish-yellow shade. Additionally, the unique resonance of brass upon impact makes it ideal for eastern gongs, cymbals, bells, horns, and various Western brass instruments.
