Stainless steel plates are a broad term encompassing both stainless and acid-resistant steel variants. Emerging at the dawn of the 20th century, these plates have been foundational in propelling modern industry and technological advancements. Stainless steel plates come in a myriad of types and properties, evolving into several distinct categories over time. Structurally, they are classified into: austenitic, martensitic (including precipitation hardening), ferritic, and austenitic-ferritic duplex stainless steel plates. Chemically, they are divided into chromium, chromium-nickel, chromium-nickel-molybdenum, low carbon, high molybdenum, and high purity stainless steel plates. Performance-wise, they are categorized into corrosion-resistant, sulfuric acid-resistant, pitting, stress corrosion-resistant, and high-strength stainless steel plates. Functionally, plates are sorted into low temperature, non-magnetic, easy-cutting, and super plastic stainless steel plates. The most prevalent classification merges structural and chemical properties, generally resulting in categories like martensitic, ferritic, austenitic, duplex, and precipitation hardening types, or simply chromium and nickel stainless steel plates. These versatile plates are typically utilized in pulp and paper machinery, heat exchangers, mechanical equipment, dyeing apparatus, film washing machines, pipelines, and coastal building facades, among other applications.
