Performance-based classifications include heat-resistant, sulfuric-acid-resistant, pitting-resistant, stress-corrosion-resistant, and high-strength stainless steel plates. Functionality classifications include low-temperature, non-magnetic, easy-cutting, and super-plastic steel plates. Typically, classifications combine structural and chemical traits, categorizing them as martensitic, ferritic, austenitic, duplex, and precipitation-hardening types, or chromium and nickel-based plates.
