Stainless steel plate is generally a broad term encompassing both stainless steel plates and acid-resistant steel plates. Emerging at the dawn of the 20th century, the evolution of stainless steel plates has established a vital material and technological foundation for the advancement of modern industry and scientific progress. Stainless steel plates come in a variety of types, each with distinct properties, and have gradually branched into several categories throughout their development. Structurally, they are classified into four main categories: austenitic stainless steel plate, martensitic stainless steel plate (including precipitation hardening stainless steel plate), ferritic stainless steel plate, and austenitic-ferritic duplex stainless steel plate. Based on the primary chemical composition or characteristic elements, they are categorized into chromium stainless steel plate, chromium-nickel stainless steel plate, chromium-nickel-molybdenum stainless steel plate, low carbon stainless steel plate, high molybdenum stainless steel plate, high purity stainless steel plate, and more. Considering performance characteristics and applications, they are divided into acid-resistant stainless steel plate, sulfuric acid-resistant stainless steel plate, pitting-resistant stainless steel plate, stress-corrosion resistant stainless steel plate, high-strength stainless steel plate, among others. Furthermore, based on functional attributes, classifications include low-temperature stainless steel plate, non-magnetic stainless steel plate, easy-cutting stainless steel plate, and super-plastic stainless steel plate. The most common classification integrates structural and chemical composition characteristics. Typically, this results in categories such as martensitic, ferritic, austenitic, duplex, and precipitation hardening stainless steel plates, or alternatively, chromium stainless steel plate and nickel stainless steel plate. Typical applications include pulp and paper equipment, heat exchangers, mechanical equipment, dyeing equipment, film washing equipment, pipelines, and coastal building exteriors.
