Our manufacturing process typically excludes or minimizes aluminum and titanium superalloy, utilizing electric arc furnaces or non-vacuum induction furnaces for smelting. For superalloy containing aluminum and titanium, we employ vacuum smelting to control element burn-off and minimize gas and inclusions. To further enhance inclusion content, distribution, and the ingot's crystal structure, we adopt a dual process of smelting and secondary remelting. Key smelting methods include electric arc furnace, vacuum induction furnace, and non-vacuum induction furnace. For remelting, we primarily use vacuum consumable furnaces and electroslag furnaces.
Solid solution strengthened alloys and those with low aluminum and titanium content (less than 4.5%) are suitable for forging. Alloys containing aluminum and titanium are typically processed through extrusion or rolling, followed by hot rolling. Certain products may necessitate further cold rolling or cold drawing. Large diameter alloy ingots or cakes are forged using hydraulic presses or fast forging hydraulic presses.
Highly alloyed materials that are difficult to deform are prevalently used in precision casting, such as turbine and guide blades. To enhance grain boundary orientation and porosity, directional crystallization processes have been developed. This method enables grains to grow along a single crystal direction during alloy solidification, creating parallel columnar crystals devoid of transverse grain boundaries. Achieving this requires maintaining a substantial axial temperature gradient and excellent axial heat dissipation between liquidus and solid phase lines (refer to metal solidification). Furthermore, recent advancements have focused on eliminating all grain boundaries through single crystal blade manufacturing.
