Product Description

Ti-811titanium Alloy Steel Flange
1.Product Description
TI-811Titanium Alloy Steel Flange

Titanium flange (titanium flange) is a part made of non-ferrous metal titanium or titanium alloy that connects the pipe and the pipe to each other, and is connected to the pipe end.

The titanium flange has holes, and the bolts make the two flanges tightly connected. The flanges are sealed with gaskets. Flanged pipe fittings (flanged pipe fittings) refer to pipe fittings with flanges (flanges or flanges).

It can be made by casting (the picture is temporarily missing), or it can be formed by screw connection or welding. Flange (joint) consists of a pair of flanges, a gasket and bolts and nuts. The gasket is placed between the sealing surfaces of the two flanges. After tightening the nut, the specific pressure on the surface of the gasket reaches a certain value and then deforms, and fills the unevenness on the sealing surface, making the connection tight and leak-proof.

Titanium alloy are divided into three main groups:alpha-phase,Beta-phase,and alpha-beta-phase.Grade 23 Ti 6AI 4V ELI alloy is an alpha-beta wrought alloy. The ELI stands for extra low interstitial For an alloy to be branded as an ELI product,it should be produced as such at the mill .The specification is from 5.8 to 325mm.It can be widely used in airframe components, cryogenic vessels, heat exchangers.CPI equipment, condenser tubing, picking baskets, exhaust pip shrouds, cases, hubs forgings, biomedical implants.
Alloying

Titanium alloy is a composite material made by adding various elements to titanium. This alloy exists in two crystal forms: α titanium, a close-packed hexagonal structure below 882ºC, and β titanium, a body-centered cubic structure above 882ºC.
Alloying elements are categorized based on their impact on the phase transition temperature:
1. α Phase Stabilizers: Elements like aluminum, carbon, oxygen, and nitrogen that stabilize the α phase and increase the transition temperature. Aluminum is particularly significant, enhancing strength at both room and high temperatures, reducing density, and increasing elastic modulus.
2. β Phase Stabilizers: Elements that stabilize the β phase and lower the transition temperature. These can be isomorphic elements like molybdenum, niobium, and vanadium, or eutectoid types like chromium, manganese, copper, iron, and silicon.
The isomorphic stabilizers include molybdenum, niobium, and vanadium; the eutectoid types are chromium, manganese, copper, iron, and silicon.
3. Neutral Elements: Elements like zirconium and tin that have minimal effect on the phase transition temperature.
Impurities: Oxygen, nitrogen, carbon, and hydrogen are primary impurities in titanium alloys. While oxygen and nitrogen significantly strengthen the alloy by being highly soluble in the α phase, they reduce plasticity. The typical content limits are below 0.15~0.2% for oxygen and 0.04~0.05% for nitrogen. Hydrogen, with limited solubility, should be kept below 0.015% to prevent brittleness. Excess hydrogen forms hydrides, but can be removed with vacuum annealing.

Application

Titanium plates excel in the shipbuilding industry due to their exceptional corrosion resistance, low density, memory, and non-magnetic properties. They are utilized in nuclear submarines, deep submersibles, atomic icebreakers, hydrofoils, hovercraft, minesweepers, propellers, whip antennas, seawater pipes, condensers, heat exchangers, acoustic devices, and fire-fighting equipment. Major titanium alloy applications include industrial pure titanium, titanium zirconium alloy, and various titanium alloys.
(1) All Titanium Ships: F1 boasts extensive practical experience in the creation of titanium boats. In the 1990s, Toho Titanium Co., LTD., Nikko Industrial Co., LTD., Fuji Shin Shipyard, and Eteng Shipyard spearheaded the manufacture of all-titanium fishing boats and speedboats. These vessels offer significant advantages such as light weight, high speed, small engine requirements, reduced fuel costs, lower carbon dioxide emissions, no need for surface coating, and easy-to-clean accessories. However, challenges include high material costs, complex processing and manufacturing, and stringent protection requirements. Test results affirm the ship's superior speed stability, reduced vibration, and diminished noise levels.
(2) Atomic Powered Ships: In Russia, titanium alloy has replaced stainless steel in the production of steam engines, heat exchangers, and ship coolers, effectively mitigating corrosion damage. Titanium steam engines are now a staple in the power plants of Russian atomic icebreakers, significantly extending engine life by up to 10 times.
(3) Propellers: Materials for propellers must exhibit high strength, excellent fatigue performance, and resistance to erosion and cavitation in seawater. Titanium alloy meets these stringent requirements. The U.S. Navy pioneered the use of a 1,500 mm diameter, four-bladed detachable titanium alloy propeller on a hydrofoil. In China, the development of hydrofoil speedboat propellers began in 1972. Currently, various specifications of titanium alloy propellers are available, ranging from 450-1700mm in diameter. We also produce fixed titanium alloy propellers with a diameter of 1200mm and a mass of 130kg. Long-term use shows that titanium alloy propellers have a service life more than five times that of copper alloy propellers.
(4) Marine Pumps, Valves, and Pipes: Traditional pumps, valves, and pipes made from copper and stainless steel typically last only 2-5 years under harsh conditions. Titanium alloy replacements offer a significant improvement, particularly in large flow mobile seawater pipelines. According to Russian standards, ship pipelines must meet three life expectancy requirements: an initial docking maintenance period of 8-9 years, a service life of at least 15 years, and a reliable operational lifespan of 25-30 years for all vessel types.
